Bangalore Literature Festival 2023

Bangalore Literature Festival 2023 was held at "LaLiT Ashoka" (familiarly known as "Ashoka Hotel" for Old Bangaloreans) from Dec 2-3. I attended the BLF with Siri on Sunday, Dec 3, 2023.

We were accompanied by our neighbours. We took the metro from Silk Institute to Mantri Square, Sampige Road stop. From there I booked an auto using Namma Yatri and caught another for our neighbours. My fare came to Rs.41, I paid Rs.50 as appreciation for prompt service. I want more auto drivers (and travelers) to use Namma Yatri.

We first went to the book store and browsed for a while. I also met with Omshivaprakash of TechFiz and the #ServantsOfKnoweldge project.

We then went over to some fashion items sales happening at the back of the building. Siri and I bailed quickly as neither of use were interested.

It started drizzling, and we found the food are and had coffee (Rs.100 a cup). It was not that great. Meh. event coffee.

We then went over the pool side to meet our neighbours who had come with their toddler. I discovered the day's programme and found the book I had just bought -- "The Kannada Mahabharata by Kumaravyasa vol 1" Edited by S. N. Sridhar Translated by C. N. Ramachandran and Narayan Hegde -- was being discussed by a panel. As I walked toward the pandal to find seats, I recognized a familiar face, it was Pramod B. I introduced myself and sat next to him. Listened to the rest of the conversation and left the venue.

We then took pictures next to the BLF sign and left for home.

On the way back, I realized we could take the shuttle bus to the metro station. The shuttle was an electric bus, and we had a comfortable ride back to the Vidhanasoudha station.
