## [2026-10-29] - Complete Local Archive & Searchable Web Catalog

* Rgveda darshana vol 11 and 12 were mislabeled. It has been fixed.


### Added
- **Source Manifest (`download.txt`)**:
  - Added tab-separated manifest of 231 books (149 English, 82 Kannada) with book titles and Google Drive source links from profskr.com.
- **Batch Downloader (`download_all.sh`)**:
  - Created Bash script to batch-download all 231 Google Drive links into `./pdfs/`.
  - Implemented automatic handling for Google Drive large-file virus-scan confirmation forms (`drive.usercontent.google.com`) using session cookies.
  - Added filename deduplication (`(2)`, `(3)`, etc.) for repeated book titles in `download.txt`.
  - Added `--force` flag to re-download existing files and HTML sanity checking to warn on non-PDF responses.
- **PDF Verification & Recovery Script (`retry_download.py`)**:
  - Added Python utility that inspects files in `./pdfs/` for `%PDF` magic bytes to detect saved Google Drive HTML interstitial pages.
  - Implemented automated retry logic with `CookieJar` persistence and `confirm`/`uuid` form extraction, validating PDF header magic bytes and minimum file size (>50 KB).
  - Added `--dry-run` mode and fallback `manual_download.html` generation for any links requiring manual download.
- **Static Catalog Generator (`generate_index.py` & `index.html`)**:
  - Built static HTML generator creating a standalone searchable catalog page (`index.html`) for the local PDF collection.
  - Added automatic language detection (`English` vs. `Kannada`) and regex-based subject classification (`SUBJECT_RULES`) across 13 categories:

  - Added client-side live title search (supporting both scripts), language/subject filter pills, file size badges, and direct download links.
- **Local PDF Archive (`pdfs/`)**:
  - Downloaded and verified all 231 of 231 PDF files (~14 GB total) locally with zero remaining failed/interstitial files.

### Fixed
- **Kannada Book Titles (`generate_index.py` & `index.html`)**:
  - Replaced faulty rule-based Kannada transliterations (e.g. broken retroflexes, vowel lengths, conjuncts, and source romanization typos such as `Vyatitva` -> `ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ` and `Varshamana` -> `ವರ್ಧಮಾನ`) with verified native Kannada titles across all 82 Kannada entries.
